Marcelo Holzinger

The Art of Dreaming

Marcelo Holzinger was born in Argentina and began cultivating his artistic talents at a young age. He was naturally drawn to beauty, nature, art, music and sports. In his early pre-teen period his family went through a lot of adversity. Through it all, his mother taught him how to overcome challenges; she encouraged him to "keep his feet on the ground, follow his dreams, and keep expressing himself." He held onto her words, and they strengthened his feeling that anything is possible in life. He consistently put his best into everything he did, and he started to pursue his passions and dreams.

Marcelo enrolled in drawing classes, and later on he attended college in Buenos Aires, where he earned a degree in Advertising and Design. While in college he worked his way up in an advertising agency, becoming its Art Director. He also taught Graphic Arts at the University of Buenos Aires.

His dreams lead him abroad, where he experienced other cultures. In his early 20's, as an adventurous young man, he traveled extensively throughout South America, Europe and the United States. The mix of cultures, the interaction with the people he encountered along the way, the history, the timeless art, the wonderful designs and architecture that he experienced in his travels greatly impacted him as a person and broadened his artistic scope.

After having such intense experiences, Marcelo embarked on an even bigger challenge; in 1996 he moved to New York, a city he had fallen in love with. Alone, with just a backpack, his CD player and an English dictionary, he turned obstacles into opportunities. In New York, Marcelo enjoyed the performing arts, musicals, museums and galleries. He attended design classes, worked as a graphic artist and continued to pursue his passion for art and design.

The next stop on his journey was Miami Beach, where he lived and worked from 2000 to 2005. He expanded and refined his design skills and became a creative consultant for various businesses and organizations. During this time, he branched out into other forms of artistic expression, including Interior Design. Marcelo approached his design projects as opportunities to channel his creativity in yet another way. He explains how his creative process works: “I dream it, I visualize it, and then…I just do it. I see each project as a dream come true.” Marcelo learned that his work not only transformed peoples' homes, but also their lives. This made him realize how fortunate he was – not only because of what he had done for his clients, but mostly because of the appreciation he would get in return.

As part of life's challenges and professional growth, Marcelo relocated to Houston, where he continued evolving as an artist and exhibiting his work in galleries and art shows. After five years of growing and further expanding his horizons in Houston, Marcelo has recently returned to Miami, a city whose colors, flavors and energy sparks his creative imagination. He's been working non-stop on various endeavors and expanding across abstract painting, graphic arts and interior décor. He continues to be featured in galleries, exhibitions, and has been getting the attention and recognition of national and international publications.

Marcelo is a big supporter of charitable causes, and feels blessed to be able to give back to the community whenever he can. He is thankful for having the ability to dream without limits, love deeply, be endlessly adventurous, and have a zest for life. Marcelo says: "I feel blessed. I'm still growing, evolving, learning, and always exploring different things. I paint, design, create, and dream with passion . . . and with the intention of living every single moment of my life to the fullest."
